We are looking for a motivated, proactive, and adaptable finance professional for our Treasury Asset Liability Management (ALM) team. As an ALM Senior Associate, you will contribute to the management of IDB Invest’s balance sheet, bridging the funding and investment activities of IDB Invest to achieve a structural position in line with the mandates of the Board of Directors, Senior Management, and the Asset Liability Management Committee.

You will work in the Treasury Division which is part of the Finance and Administration Department. The Treasury Division is responsible for the execution of IDB Invest’s borrowing, hedging, trading and cash management activities, as well as the management of IDB Invest’s overall balance sheet.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and maintain data feeds and reconciliation processes in close coordination with the Data team and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Maintain and improve models and reporting templates.
  • Execute recurrent ALM reporting in a timely, accurate, and independent manner.
  • Contribute to the development of ALM recommendations by carrying out high quality research, scenario analysis, and stress testing.
  • Contribute to broader Treasury and institutional initiatives with sound technical expertise, ensuring ALM mandates and requirements are met.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of robust documentation, methodologies and processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of project milestones.Collaborate closely with other members of Treasury, Risk Management, Financial Planning, Accounting and Valuations on ALM related topics
  • Continuously develop the skills and expertise required to incrementally manage additional day-to-day ALM activities.
  • Seek to maintain awareness about institutional objectives and the Treasury’s contribution to their attainment.
  • Contribute to Treasury engagement initiatives and seek opportunities for collaboration across Treasury teams.

 

What you’ll need

  • Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Finance, Risk Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.

Relevant certifications like FRM or CQF are a plus.

  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in Asset Liability Management, Risk Management, and other related balance sheet level management and reporting roles.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Strong motivation, self-drive, and sense of accountability.
  • Versatility and responsiveness to changing priorities.
  • Desire and dedication to further developing your skills and responsibilities.
  • A sound understanding of fixed-income markets, including OTC derivatives.
  • A quantitative background and prior coding experience (e.g., Python, R, Julia)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic SQL querying knowledge.
  • Strong database management and dashboard development skills.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.
