TITLE: Project Assistant
TEAM/PROGRAMME: WASH LOCATION: Hpa-an, Mon/Kayin Area
Number of Position: 1
GRADE: NAT-5 CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed Term

CHILD SAFEGUARDING

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE

To facilitate the effective and successful planning, distribution, monitoring and evaluation of rapid WASH/NFI distribution for immediate recovery of flood-affected children and their families in Kayin State – in collaboration with Volunteers, and through under the supervision of Area Program Manager.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Role Dimensions: Regular contact of detailed explanations of policy, regulations, programs, services and representation of SCI at the local level or with mid-level counterparts

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
• Conduct updated data collection and data entry, and assist in the design of project activities in line with the agreed work plan.
• Ensure community mobilization, and facilitate community-based project activities through regular interaction with individuals in flood-affected area including providing training for the Camp Management Committee, guidance and support for WASH/NFI distribution.
• Collect daily updated data from the warehouse i.e.; commodity receiving and dispatch information
• To ensure the volunteers to be good distribution management
• To conduct the IDP registration/ PDM / Market price and relative information collecting
• To prepare the food assistance packages with Hunger Window guidance and procedure
• Take steps to ensure that the program benefits the poorest and most disadvantaged individuals at risk in Kayin state.
• Facilitating and organizing on delivery of urgent distribution of non-food items (NFI), rehabilitation of damaged latrines, and provision of community water filters in Kayin State.
• Assist and facilitate capacity-building training for a variety of stakeholders, Camp leaders and Camp management committee including camp-based volunteers
• Liaise with Township and village authorities, and departmental officials regarding the project activities as necessary.
• Assist supervisor in preparing township work plan and budget estimation.
• Responsibilities for WASH/NFI distribution for assigned camps in both sides areas.
• Assisting in update IDPs tracker and identifying gap and needed of each target places
• Monitoring and case study /success stories for WASH/NFI distribution activities.
• Keep records of activities, and report regularly and as requested on program progress.
• Assist to supervisor for monthly /quarterly workplan and reporting process.
• Any other duties and tasks assigned by the supervisor.

• Be vigilant about observing possible child abuse/harm in their personal and professional lives.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Any University Degree.
• One year professional working experience, development sector preferred (or) good experiences of WASH/NFI distribution.
• Must have distribution management and record keeping and documentation
• Professional working experience with organizations is preferable.
• Good communication skills in Kayin Local Language.
• Proven team working ability.
• Must have knowledge of using of KOBO application, Microsoft team and other application
• Computer proficiency in word, excel is an advantage.
• Ability to live and travel in remote locations, and (where relevant) ability to speak local language.
• Interest & willingness to learn from community.
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
