The Opportunity
The Officer- Research and reporting will perform her/his job under the supervision of Technical Specialist- Research & Analysis. As a member of the performance measurement unit, s/he will be responsible for program monitoring, evaluation, accountability and reporting. This position is mainly responsible for supporting the formulation of research design and concept development. This involves conducting thorough secondary literature review, collecting relevant documents, and conceptualizing research projects, formulating research questions, and designs both qualitative and quantitative data collection tools. Subsequently, the Officer oversees the implementation phase of a certain research project, developing data collection plans, providing training to the data collectors, conducting focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and collect case studies, ensuring the quality of data through rigorous monitoring. Additionally, the Officer manages data through various stages, from entry and cleaning to coding and in some cases support performing statistical analysis. Also, he/she will be responsible for drafting research reports, assisting in data visualization, drafting slide-decks, and developing infographics for effective communication.

Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in Research and M&E with NGO’s and Development sector
• Experience in collecting data through quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
• Experience in interviewing community members and leaders and/or facilitating focus group discussions (especially with beneficiaries including children).
• Understanding of the basic standards to ensure data quality.
• Familiarity with mobile data collection platforms (like Kobo Collect, ODK, Survey CTO, etc.).
• Having knowledge of Climate Change-related activities will be considered an additional asset.
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline preferably in Disaster management/Anthropology/ Development Studies / Statistics/ Economics/ Social Sciences or relevant field or equivalent experience.
