JOB DESCRIPTION

UNHCR provides support to the Government in protection and realisation of solutions for forcibly displaced and stateless persons. In this context, UNHCR is seeking support in expanding its engagement with different groups of refugees, asylum-seekers and stateless persons in Czechia. As such, selected online volunteer will primarily:

  1. Conduct research into a number of topical refugee issues.
  2. Support the office in its engagement with refugee-led organizations, including those led by and serving refugee youth.

We expect the selected online volunteer(s) to start with this task as soon as possible, and by early September 2024.

The Protection and Research Online Volunteer is a member of the Protection Unit and will report to the Community-Based Protection Officer.

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be eager to learn and to contribute to UNHCR’s objectives. They will have effective written and verbal communication skills. They should be resourceful, proactive in finding solutions. The selected candidate will be required to be able to work effectively remotely with stable internet connection.

• Support UNHCR in its engagement with refugee-led organizations, including those led by and working with refugee youth from different countries of origin. This includes support in the development of concept notes, support in the organisation of trainings and webinars for these organisations, as well as supporting the management of grants and the dissemination of key messages.

• Research and map refugee-led and community-based organisations in Czechia led by and serving diverse nationalities.
