Major Responsibility

  • Coordinate data collection, compile and submit early warning data (food security status, market price monitoring and malnutrition) of Woredas where WVE has business in Tigray region in a given time frame
  • Coordinate and arrange awareness creation session in the region to community levels on pending treats and forecasting of early warning to ensure appropriate response
  • Coordinating need assessments and conducting capacity building of government staff, JEOP personnel and community members to put in place effective early warning system on early warning analysis, humanitarian assistance and targeting process.
  • Preparing annual plan of activities with budget requirement on the region and implementing after having approval
  • Participate in multi-agency/multi sectoral all types of assessment and presenting the assessment findings for appropriate response
  • Coordinating review meeting on early warning performance with pertinent stakeholders based on time intervals
  • Establishing and maintaining early warning structure being with concerned entities for streaming of information.
  • Coordinating all process of VBT ensuring absence of inclusive and exclusive error in the targeting procedure
  • Providing technical backup for Early warning Officers of Woredas.
  • Documentation of all early warning system activities at regional level and sharing of lesson gained
  • Any additional assignment given from immediate supervisor.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:

  • B.Sc. in Agricultural Development (Plant Science, Agronomy, Animal Science, Natural Resource, Agricultural extension, Agricultural Economics), Rural development, DRR, Food Security and any other related fields. But M.Sc. is preferable.

Required Professional Experience:

  • Experience: on similar position with minimum of seven years for B.Sc. and five years for M. Sc,
  • Basic English spoken and writing in addition to local language of duty station (Tigrigna).
