Education Officer Palestine Nablus (Nationals Only)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role and responsibilities

The main responsibility of the Education officer is to contribute to the quality in the implementation of the education project.

Specific responsibilities 

  1. Implement education activities under the direction of the Education Project Coordinator.
  2. Deliver NRC programmatic elements and project thematic areas under the support and guidance of the Technical Officer and other technical staff from the Country Office, Region, and Head Office.
  3. Participate in team planning, regular meetings, and Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) activities in coordination with the Technical Officer (including Focus Group Discussions (FGD), pre-assessment, post-assessment, research and evaluations taking place during the course of the year etc.)
  4. Ensure regular, direct, close coordination (in-person and remote communication) with school and centre management, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, and learners, including the implementation, follow-up, supervision, and management of project activities
  5. Observe teachers’ performance to ensure project activities are implemented according to quality standards and provide structured feedback in line with a training plan based on gaps identified
  6. Ensure keeping accurate records of project data for assigned schools (KoBO data entry, targets, assessments, beneficiaries, pictures, beneficiaries’ feedback etc.)
  7. Prepare, revise, and develop teaching/non-teaching staff training materials/packages based on needs/gaps identified and lead/facilitate the required training sessions/workshops for teaching and non-teaching staff in target schools, in a collaboration with schools’ management
  8. Implement awareness sessions for parents and teaching staff in assigned schools
  9. Develop individual work plan to address the needs of the target groups to be shared with PC
  10. Collaborate with partners in the implementation of approved activities and ensure their implementation is in accordance with the agreed plan
  11. Prepare purchase requisition according to approved activities plan, budget, procurement and requests from the Education Project Coordinator (PC)
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or/and other relevant area
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of education in emergency
  • Experience in training delivery and capacity building techniques
  • Relevant work experience
  • Experience of and commitment to participatory approaches to aid and development.
  • Fluency in Arabic, both written and verbal

This position is Grade (05) Step (01). Salary & Benefits are based on West Bank Duty Station.
