JOB DESCRIPTION

DRC has been responding to various humanitarian crises in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees. DRC received registration from the Ministry of Interior in 2011, and since then has focused primarily on responding to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and the resulting impact on Lebanese host community. DRC Lebanon’s focus is to ensure that we are able to respond to critical emerging humanitarian needs whilst improve the living conditions of displacement-affected populations and contribute to the achievement of durable solutions. With an annual portfolio of $12million, and with approximately 200+ staff, DRC is focusing its response in protection and economic recovery (Ec-Rec) sector in Bekka, North Lebanon and Beirut. DRC is also contributing to the evidence base and coordination structures in country through our Evidence Generation and referral information management (RIMs) teams.

About the internship

The intern will support the Advocacy Coordinator and will assist DRC Field Communication focal points output supporting DRC field offices in Beirut, Bekaa and in the North.

The tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible in archiving the pictures in DRC SharePoint and make sure they are ready to be used for IEC Material (Information, education and Communication)
  • Support in liaising with Graphic designer companies to follow up in of outreach materials for DRC internal and external outreach activities.
  • Support in the fulfillment and follow up of communication plan deliverables, more specifically, with human-interest stories, success stories, social media posts.
  • Support in events and field visits planning and organization.
  • Support in the creation of Program factsheet

About you

To be successful in this role we expect the following:

  • Have a vocational and academic educational background and/or relevant experience in communications, journalism, graphic design and/or social media.
  • Demonstrated interest and good knowledge in communications, translation, research, writing, photography, and basic design tasks.
  • Have a good understanding of the institutional structure of Lebanon.
  • Be fluent in spoken and written in English and Arabic.
  • Able to work in a multi-cultural setting with colleagues and participants from different backgrounds.
  • Can navigate in a challenging environment and handle a wide range of complex tasks.
  • Creative, motivated, and with a flexible attitude and ability to work independently and collaboratively across a diverse team.

It is a requirement that you are enrolled in a university or have completed relevant academic programs or courses related to the field of the internship within the last year to be considered for the internship.

We offer :

  • Contract length: 6 months subject to study requirements and further dialogue
  • Workplace: Beirut with frequent visits to the Zahle and Tripoli
  • Start date: Mid September 2024
  • Working hours: max 40 hours per week, subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations next to the internship.

The internship is not paid but we offer:

  • Daily transportation and food allowance for each active workday.
