Job Profile

The Data Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of WVL data. This role involves developing and implementing data quality standards, conducting regular Program Quality and data quality audits, and identifying and resolving data discrepancies. The officer collaborates with various departments to establish best practices for data management and provides training to staff on data quality procedures. By maintaining high standards of data quality, the Data Quality Assurance Officer supports informed decision-making and contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.

Major Responsibilities

  • Regularly monitor and assess data quality in the E&L Hub, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability
  • Regularly monitor completeness of Activity Monitoring and GPT dashboards.
  • Develop and implement processes for data cleaning, validation, and standardization.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify the sources of data quality issues and in the system recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular and systematic program quality audits of program data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability. This includes cross-checking data entries, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring alignment with predefined standards.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports documenting findings, including areas of non-compliance, data inconsistencies, and recommended corrective actions. Ensure comprehensive documentation of audit processes, methodologies, and outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry, storage, and retrieval
  • Collaborate with the M&E team at all level to produce high-quality data reports and visualizations.
  • Collect, clean and Analysis national level reliable and accurate data to provide or national level reporting.
  • Conduct training sessions for program staff (APs and Non-sponsorship Projects) on data quality assurance practices and tools.
  • Required qualifications, experience & competencies
  • 3 years of experience in MEAL, data quality assurance, data management, or a related field with a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field or 5 years of experience in MEAL, data quality assurance, data management, or a related field with a Higher National Diploma in Statistics, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing data quality assurance systems and data quality audit.
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Stata, R).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Sinhala or Tamil
