How can you make a difference?

You report to the Chief of WASH for guidance and general supervision. Your role supports the development, preparation, management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the WASH programme within the country programme.

You provide technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of WASH-related output results in the country programme. You are accountable for ensuring the overall efficiency and effectiveness of WASH program management, as well as the delivery and accomplishment of program goals and objectives in line with the Country Programme Document (CPD) and the Country Programme Action Plan (CPAP).

Additionally, you support evidence-based advocacy and build consensus among other stakeholders. This includes assisting in the development of the national roadmap for the water and sanitation sectors, along with a financing strategy. You also help strengthen regulatory services and effective monitoring, contributing to building the government’s upstream capacity on water and sanitation safety programming.

The following minimum requirements:

•  Education: An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, environmental / sanitary engineering or another relevant technical field. Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree are a strong asset.

  • A first University degree in a relevant field combined with (2) additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

•  Work Experience: a minimum of five years of professional experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries is required. One year of deployment in a developing country is required.

•  Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

The following desirables:

•  Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language.
