Position: Warehouse Officer
Location: Hodiedah
Grade: 4b
Contract Length: As per the budget
The Opportunity:
The warehouse officer has the responsibility to manage warehouse and stock available with the delivery of timely, effective and accountable warehouse support to the Save the Children field team in the country programme.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Save the Children International (SCI) minimum standards of supply chain procedures are adhered to.
- Lead the warehouse management and maintain stock records up to date. Including all stock documentations and archiving.
- Ensure all dates and packaging of items received and dispatched from the warehouse are in line with SCI standards and quality framework.
- Ensures all goods are well entered in the Total Inventory Management System and timely reported to the Field supply chain coordinator.
- Responsible of all stock movements IN & OUT physically and in the system, including all required transactions in Total Inventory Management System.
- Pack, Store, and Organize all products and materials as per the suitable arrangements and correct labelling.
- Responsible for arranging warehouse space properly and according to SCI standards.
- Monitor and maintain up-to-date warehouse inventory records and report on time to the supply chain coordinator.
- Ensures proper cooling, heating, and inflation to specific goods and items is suitable and available.
- Ensure proper monitor of temperature readings of medical items, responsible of managing records and devices required.
- Ensure regular assessment of warehouse including Health and safety inspection as per SCI standards.
- Maintain good usage of the warehouse generators and monitor the fuel consumption on a daily basis, to report and the supply chain coordinator.
- Ensure proper and delicate handling to sensitive items in the warehouse such as medicines and fragile items.
- Maintain up-to-date asset and equipment’s list that are available in warehouse.
- Responsible for all stock arrangements, labelling, registering, and disposals.
- Inspect on regular basis stored items and materials from defections and damages and report on a timely manner.
- Monitor all the expiry dates of all the inventory and rise alarms to the supply chain coordinator in advance of at least six months.
- Ensure regular follow up for stock’s owners on their stock and report any issue immediately.
- Being flexible and operations oriented to achieve the best result for the beneficiaries.
- Responsible for warehouse maintenance, safety, and cleanness.
Any other tasks assigned by the line manager (supply chain coordinator).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
- Minimum Diploma / bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Pharmaceutical background is required.
- Minimum 2 years proven warehousing experience with INGOs/ UN agencies.
- 1-2 years experience in supply chain management including procurement, transportation and distribution, warehouse and stock management is an advantage.
- Driving License availability is an advantage.
- Proficient IT skills and capacity working on MS office and spreadsheets.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
