Key Responsibilities:

Co-design the organization’s Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Framework and Processes

  • Co-leads the development and implementation of the structural data workflows, design, processes and pathways for the organizational Datawarehouse that will facilitate the collection, storing, analysis and reporting of data related to WVDF’s key Business Operations (with particular focus on Fundraising, Programmes, Finance and strategy performance);
  • Coordinates with ICT in the development and enhancement of infrastructures and systems needed for data analytics and business intelligence function;
  • Develops the necessary data models, data definitions, projections and reporting methodologies to support strategic planning of priority key business operations of the organization (e.g. RD/Fundraising, Programmes, Finance and Strategy).

Data Sourcing, Analysis and Reporting

  • Regularly sourcse data/information on key WVDF’s business operations with particular focus on fundraising (Sponsorship, PNS/Grants), programmes, Strategy, from both internal and external sources
  • Collects, streamlines, analyses and reports RD/GAM, programmes and Strategy operational/performance data, to inform strategic decisions-making and review and recalibration of Strategy and sub-strategies, including strategic initiatives.
  • Conducts comprehensive external primary and secondary research (including from digital platforms) to assess trends and identify opportunities and threats both at the macro-environment and industry levels that would inform and stir WVDF’ strategy and sub-strategies toward optimal performance.
  • Creates/Enhances reporting dashboards for WVDF to include the development of metrics and the monitoring of key business outcomes.
  • Supports RD/Fundraising teams in the design, execution, and assessment of strategic initiatives, ensuring each is anchored in robust research and thorough data analysis.

User Consultancy

  • Establishes business process and coordinate with internal stakeholders in identifying key data/information, sourcing, analysing and reporting data/information.
  • Builds positive, productive and collaborative relationships within WVDF and with its partners.
  • Creates and implements policies on what and how data is used for reporting including who has access to the data and ensuring privacy legislation is followed.
  • In partnership with the Data Stewards in the organization, accountable for the stewardship of data within the portfolio including.
  • Ensuring the data has integrity for what it is being used for;
  • Ensuring privacy rules are followed.
  • Providing a documented understanding of data ensuring accurate interpretation.
  • Ensures the appropriate application of the data by establishing appropriate review and approval processes.
  • Creating a multi-functional core group among key staff across different departments (RD, Finance, SCM, ICT) to share capacity, learnings and synergize and maximize resources for organizational data analytics and business intelligence.

Partnership Development and Sustainability

  • Identifies key institutions, agencies, experts individuals/groups to serve as strategic partners for data sourcing/sharing and research with WVDF.
  • Participates in consortium and network meetings related to the identification, implementation or presentation of data analysis and research of WVDF.

Engage in Organizational Mandated Activities

  • Completes all mandated staff training/orientations.
  • Engages in Relief Operations and Emergency Response (as needed).
  • Regularly participates in Spiritual Nurture Activities (e.g. Monday Devotion, Corporate Prayer and Day of Prayer).
  • Participates as committee member or special task/assignment as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree related to data science, analytics, or market research.
  • 3 -5 years of progressively responsible experience performing duties related to data/statistical methods, applications, research and data analysis and reporting.
  • A thorough understanding of the local and international developmental and humanitarian sector
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across large complex organizations.
  • Critical thinking skills and a natural curiosity to understand data relationships
  • Proficiency in data management, data analysis and reporting is essential
  • Knowledge on statistical softwares such as SPSS, Stata, R and/or Python is essential.
  • Familiar with SQL, Crystal Report, MS SQL Server, BI Report, Power BI, and DAX.
  • Expert knowledge of information presentation techniques (graphing, charting, tabling etc.) and interpreting the same.
  • Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills and the ability to build consensus and demonstrate diplomacy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure that insights are shared effectively.
  • Comfortable with predictive as well as descriptive analyses and narratives.
  • Physically and mentally fit to travel and do field work.
