The position will be carried out remotely. The expected start date of the contract is on 5 September 2024. The duration of the contract is 4 months until the end of the year 2024.

1. BACKGROUND
Global Education Coalition
At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, UNESCO launched the Global Education Coalition (GEC), an international multi-sector partnership. The coalition was established to meet the urgent and unprecedented need for continuity of learning in emergency contexts.
Leaders around the world have responded positively to GEC’s mission. Heads of UN agencies, chief executives, foundation heads and civil society leaders recognized that they share the common goal of forging cross-sector and multi-stakeholder cooperation, with the guiding principle of leaving no one behind.
UNESCO would like to engage a communications specialist to develop communications products in support of the GEC programme.
2. DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Under the authority of the Director of Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems (ED/PLS), and the direct supervision of the Chief of the Section of Teacher Development, the Individual Specialist shall support the Global Education Coalition and country programmes by developing communications products:

3. TIMELINES AND DELIVERABLES
The assignment duration may be extended for a period of three to up to eleven months (not exceeding eleven months in total), if additional needs arise. Submission of the financial proposal constitutes agreement to the application of the proposed monthly rate for any such contract extension or renewal.
