Do you have an interest in Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) coordination of large-scale construction and manufacturing activities?
Join our Quality Management Division, where you will support and oversee coordination of NDE activities with IO construction programs & stakeholders, contractors, and Domestic Agencies (DAs).
As a NDE coordinator, your goals include:
Providing support to Quality Management Division head to ensure the NDE activities are properly implemented across the assigned scope.
Success in this role includes:
- Solution oriented assessment of NDE issues during manufacturing and construction;
- Implementing new NDE techniques upon request or as needed.
Key Duties, Scope, and Level of Accountability
- Primary Responsibilities
- Advises on optimization of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) during design, manufacturing, assembly, installation, and commissioning of ITER components;
- Proposes NDT methods and techniques to optimize ITER Project cost and schedule;
- Consults and /or surveys advanced NDT on critical components;
- Validates NDT procedures, methods, and techniques by authenticating demonstrations before applying on actual components;
- Reviews and / or approves NDT procedures, demonstration and validation reports, and NDT reports, etc. for critical components of ITER machine.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Trains relevant IO staff and Stakeholders on NDE methods;
- Provides support to Contractors, Plant Breakdown Structures (PBSs), and Programs in the development of advanced NDT techniques, methods, and procedures to carry out NDT;
- Improves quality culture within ITER project by conducting technical trainings on NDT methods, and certifying ITER Staff, ITER Project Associates (IPAs), and DA staff for Supervision of NDT inspection;
- Contributes to resolving disputes of NDT by authenticating or conducting NDT to verify and cross check results obtained during tests.
- Demonstrated experience and technical competencies in:
- P2: Minimum 5 years’ experience in component design, testing, construction, and /or manufacturing of pressure equipment in nuclear or technical environments;
- P3: Minimum 8 years’ experience in component design, testing, construction, and /or manufacturing of pressure equipment in nuclear or technical environments.
- Essential competencies and experience required for success in the role:
- Non- Destructive Testing: specifying, planning or executing non-destructive testing activities, including maintenance of the associated equipment and tools, while preserving/ensuring quality and integrity and in conformance with safety standards, as well as reparation of the NDT specifications and acceptance criteria for the procurement and installation of welded components;
- Manufacturing: delivering materials into finished products through various techniques and technologies based on design requirements;
- Design and implementation of NDE methods, techniques, and procedures;
- Certified in ASNT and / or ISO 9712 level III:
- Stakeholder Management: identifying, soliciting, and sustaining effective relationships with individuals and organizations that are involved in, exert influence over, or whose interests may be positively or negatively affected by a project or activity;
- Procurement: acquiring goods, services, or works from external sources in a cost-effective and efficient manner. Strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
- Scope Management: defining, controlling, and managing the work scope of a project or activity, including the identification and management of changes,
- Advantageous competencies and experience:

- Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing and other NDT methods on Stainless Steel:
- Applying RCC-MR/RCC-M and/or ASME codes to Pressure Equipment or Nuclear Pressure Equipment and implementing requirements:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline;
- The required education degree may be substituted by extensive professional experience involving similar work responsibilities and/or additional training certificates in relevant domains.

- Knowledge of these competencies may be acquired through on-board training at basic understanding level for all ITER staff members;

- May be requested to work outside the ITER Organization reference working hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays, due to business needs – this may include on-call, shift work, etc.
- May be requested to be part of any of the project/construction teams and to perform other duties in support of the project;
- For staff expected to perform on-call, shift hours, or other work outside ITER Organization reference working hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, the possession of a driving license valid in France is required. no commuting vehicle will be provided by the ITER Organization.
- Informs management of any important and urgent issues that cannot be handled by line or matrix management and that may jeopardize the achievement of the Project’s objectives;
