Job description

 

The global project TUMI Just Mobility promotes concepts and measures for a globally just mobility. To this end, it is active in the following areas:

  • As part of the TUMI E-Bus Mission, it advises and supports cities worldwide in designing and implementing measures for climate-friendly and just transport systems.
  • Within the EU co-financed measure “MoVe Yaoundé” it promotes active mobility in Yaoundé. It also supports the professionalization of the local informal transport sector (together with Agence Française de Développement, AFD).
  • It strengthens the cross-sectoral expertise for a globally just mobility through knowledge products and further education offers. It positions associated transport concepts in global and local city and specialist networks.

For these activities, the project works with national and international partners, including WRI, ITDP, UITP, C40, ICLEI, ICCT and AFD.
We are looking for creative minds with an ingenious spirit to support us on our way to a just transport revolution.

 

Your tasks

 

You will carry out the following tasks as part of your internship:

  • Supporting research and activities in the field of sustainable transport, electromobility and renewable energies
  • Supporting the further development of the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative with a focus on Just Transition (circular economy, just workforce, gender)
  • Supporting the preparation of presentations and publications for our partners in emerging and developing countries
  • Supporting the outreach activities of TUMI
  • Supporting the preparation and implementation of webinars
  • Conceptualizing and editing impact content for online and print communication products (website, social media, publications)
  • Supporting in-house knowledge management

 

Your profile

 

  • You are studying (at least basic studies or bachelor’s degree) and/or have a degree in the field of transport, economics or social sciences, event management, media, communication, environmental, political sciences, geography or a related field.
  • You bring a high level of interest in development policy and a basic understanding of the challenges facing the transport sector in emerging and developing countries and/or knowledge of international climate policy and approaches to mitigating greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector.
  • You bring affinity and joy for working with digital/social media.
  • You have very good written and spoken German and English language skills (Spanish an advantage). You have a very good feeling for language and are adept at writing and editing texts.
  • You have organizational skills and enjoy supporting the preparation of events and maintaining contact with project partners.
  • You put creative ideas into practice in an agile, fast and productive manner and work efficiently, solution-oriented and independently.
  • You are familiar with the usual Office programs (especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel), experience with the Adobe products (InDesign, PhotoShop) are an advantage.
