Non-Communicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading causes of death worldwide. Nearly 43% of the population in Bangladesh is in the age group of 6 months to 19 years are exposed to at least one NCD risk factor. Early diagnosis of NCDs in children could help health managers to control the increasing burden of these diseases in adults. In this study, a comprehensive and scalable pediatric NCD service delivery model will be developed at primary health care systems in two districts (Kishoreganj and Bagerhat) of the Dhaka and Khulna divisions in Bangladesh, in collaboration with NCDC, UNICEF and pediatric NCD experts and other stakeholders.
Position description:
The M& E officer will report to Principle Investigator and will be responsible to monitor and evaluate the administration and implementation activities operated at the field sites; evaluate and review the activities of field sites; coordination with stakeholders of the NCDC, MIS and others government departments and non-government organization, provide training of data collection at the facility level, prepare proposal for funding, publish research findings and to impact policies and programs with the objective of advancing scientific understanding of diseases and improving public health in communities within icddr,b guidelines and organizational values and guidelines (such as Institutional Governance Framework – IGF and Gender Diversity Guidelines).
He/ she will be responsible to:
- Support to develop and implement MEL framework/Theory of Change (TOC).
- Create field implementation plan; frequently visit to the field to monitor and supervise the activities;
- Create different MEL indicators and tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting to monitor project progress and measure impact;
- Maintain template/mechanisms to track and monitor progress of study activities;
- Oversee routine data collection processes, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and reliable data through rigorous quality assurance practices;
- Evaluate quantitative indicators to measure project performance and outcomes;
- Prepare and analyze regular M&E reports, including midline and final impact assessments;
- Coordinate the implementation of facility assessment surveys and record reviews in Bagerhat and Kishoreganj districts;
- Seek inputs from supervisor and research staff; Modify and finalize plan;
- Data presentation and data analysis following analytical plan.
- Provide necessary support to the data management team for any inconsistency in records;
- Escalate issues to supervisor in order to monitor functioning of service delivery model in adherence to project guidelines.
- Analyze the data to review functioning of existing M&E tools and make necessary changes;
- Provide necessary support to the data management team for any inconsistency in records;
- Share reports and specific case studies with Principal Investigator and in order to apply participative monitoring techniques in execution activities.
- Support PI in writing project report and manuscript;
Required qualification and experience:
- Masters in any discipline, preferably from Social Science background.
- At least 3 years of experience in the relevant research field.
Location: Dhaka. Frequent field visits required.
Contract Type and duration:
- CSA basis for 6 (six) months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.
Salary & benefits:
- Taka 59,900/-per month(consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
- Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
