In Jordan, UNICEF collaborates with the government and civil society to advance the rights of Jordanian children through a variety of development programs. This LTA aims to engage a skilled character designer/illustrator to aid these efforts through visual storytelling and character creation.

How can you make a difference?

To develop engaging and impactful character designs and illustrations that convey the narratives of children’s experiences and rights effectively to a global audience.

1.  Deliverable 1: Character Illustration: 2D and 3D Animation Character Design Sheets.

2. Deliverable 2: Storyboarding: Illustrated Scenes and Storyboards.

3. Deliverable 3: Graphic Design: Child-Friendly Graphics.

4. Deliverable 4: Digital Assets: Digital files (PSD, AI, PNG, JPEG).

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Candidates are free to apply to any category of writers based on their qualifications and experience. They can also apply for multiple categories or all of them. UNICEF will award LTA to top ranked 3-5 candidates under each category. A candidate may be awarded LTA for one or more than one category.

Category 1: social media Graphic Designers

  1. A degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field is required. 3 years of professional experience and a diploma can also be accepted.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in social media design, digital marketing, or advertising.
  3. Experience in creating compelling visuals for social media campaigns that engage and motivate audiences.
  4. A portfolio that reflects high standards of creativity and effectiveness in social media content.
  5. Ability to conduct visual and thematic research to support social media strategies.
  6. Strong planning and communication skills, capable of managing multiple social media design projects.

Category 2: Motion Graphics Designers for Multimedia Content

  1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Motion Graphics, Animation, Graphic Design, or related disciplines. Relevant experience and a diploma may substitute for formal education.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in motion graphics design, with a portfolio demonstrating proficiency in creating animated graphics and visual effects.
  3. Proficiency with software such as Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, or similar tools.
  4. Experience in creating motion graphics for a range of media platforms including video, web, and digital displays.
  5. Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to translate messages into engaging and dynamic visual content.
  6. Capability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  7. A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality visual content that enhances the viewer’s experience.
  8. Experience collaborating with video editors, designers, and other creative team members to produce cohesive multimedia projects.

Language:

• Fluency in oral and written English is required

• Fluency in oral and written Arabic is required

    iii. Five Work Samples: This includes three previously designed storyboards, characters, or illustrations. It is critical to submit work samples as you will observe from the advertisement that marks have been assigned to these criteria for arriving at the most suitable candidate.

iv. A financial proposal indicating professional fee as per the above template. Please do not forget to specify your name in the file while saving. (To be uploaded under other supporting documents).

Without all the above 4 documents your application will be considered incomplete and invalid and will not be considered further.
