Duties and Accountabilities
 
•  Provide transportation for official business to Country Officer, local and visiting IFC staff as needed in Lomé and other cities as required.
•  Ensure staff follows Road Safety Guidelines as passengers and ensure safety of passengers and vehicle (lock vehicle doors, safe parking areas, identify safe routes, etc).
•  Collect and deliver official documents to Government officials, IFC clients, donors, etc as needed.
•  Responsible to update IFC vehicle log-book of vehicle use on a daily basis for proper recording of mileage.
•  Ensure periodic maintenance and repair needs of IFC vehicle is performed; responsible for update of maintenance record is kept accordingly.
•  Perform daily vehicle security check up; ensure safe keeping of vehicle accessories (e.g. jack, first aid kit, spare tires, flashlight, etc.) regularly.
•  Ensure that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
•  Follow WB/UN directives; be informed of daily security advisory provided by WB/UN and drive accordingly. 
•  Make copies and scan documents upon request when driver services are not solicited. 
•  Performs basic office functions including sorting and distributing incoming mail, documents packages and faxes; photocopying.
•  Assist and follow up of incoming shipments including customs clearances, as needed.
•  Responsible for visas assistance to staff and their dependents.
•  Responsible for filing VAT exemptions
•  Assist with customs clearance for all types of purchases (fuel, equipment, vehicles, etc.)
•  Provide protocol assistance to Country Officer including all high profile missions.
•  Perform duties on official holidays, weekends, or beyond office hours such as evening functions as needed.
•  Perform other tasks as required.

 

Selection Criteria

 

•  Minimum of secondary school diploma or equivalent.
•  At least 4 years driving experience; defensive driving skills training will be an advantage.
•  Valid driver’s license.
•  Fluency in French and some good knowledge of English required .
•  Good knowledge of the city of Lomé.
•  Good driving record references.
•  Proactive, takes ownership, mature, flexible personality.
•  Team player, good people skills, ability to work with people from different countries, and a strong client focus.
