JOB DESCRIPTION

Description

IFC — a member of the World Bank Group — is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. We work in more than 100 countries, using our capital, expertise, and influence to create markets and opportunities. Our mission is to leverage the power of the private sector to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet. For more information, visit www.ifc.org.
IFC’s Economics & Private Sector Development Vice Presidency ensures a consistent focus on development results and impact across IFC’s operations. Our team provides independent economic analysis to all of IFC’s operations and leads blended finance programming and partnership development. The Vice Presidency supports the implementation of IFC’s business strategy for the effective delivery of our programs to clients and partners in close collaboration with relevant counterparts across the World Bank Group.
The Partnerships and Fundraising (CBFPF) unit within IFC’s Economics & Private Sector Development Vice Presidency supports IFC operations by fundraising for IFC priority areas and maintaining ongoing relationships with development partners, including bilateral and multilateral sovereign partners, foundations, and private philanthropies. In addition to directly engaging with partners to support IFC activities, CBFPF facilitates partnership development across IFC and advises all IFC operational units on establishing and maintaining meaningful partnerships that help further IFC’s strategic objectives.
The Operations Analyst will be based in Washington, D.C., report to the Principal Operations Officer for Multilateral Engagements, and work closely with the Senior Operations Officer for International Organizations based in Geneva.
Roles and Responsibilities
Key aspects of the role include but are not limited to:
•  Strategy implementation: Contribute to the implementation of IFC’s Partnerships and Fundraising Strategy, focusing on developing strategic and operational programs with International Institutions, focusing on United Nations agencies.
•  External Relationship management: Support engagement and relationship management with external partners, particularly but not limited to UN agencies. This includes building new relationships for business development and maintaining the implementation roadmap of established partnerships.
•  Internal IFC and WBG engagement: Facilitate cross-cutting IFC discussions and initiatives around key strategic areas, such as knowledge and thought leadership, joint analytics, standard setting, and operational partnerships across different industries and/or regions. Liaise proactively with counterparts across the World Bank Group to ensure alignment of engagement with key partners, including effectively liaising with the World Bank office in NY.
•  Events and briefings: Support the planning and logistics of regional and/or global events as required, coordinating with relevant operational teams. Provide timely input, briefings, and additional documents required for executive missions, public appearances, and other engagement activities involving external and internal audiences related to strategic partnerships.
•  Cross-department initiatives and reporting: Support and lead department-level and VPU-level projects across a wide range of areas relevant to the Partnerships and Fundraising Strategy.
