JOB DESCRIPTION

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

EpiC is a five-year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The project provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, treatment programming and viral load (VL) suppression among key populations (KPs) and priority populations (PPs). In the Philippines, EpiC will work in the Greater Metro Manila Area (Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Central Luzon) to address critical gaps and bottlenecks in the HIV response by expanding HIV case finding in the community, upscaling of PrEP implementation, and strengthening treatment initiation, adherence, and retention support for people living with HIV (PLHIV). Further, EpiC Philippines aims to build the capacity of local, community-based KP organ zations and work closely with the government of the Philippines to deliver HIV services tailored to the needs of KPs.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs accounting and financial duties for a department or unit. Works with various sources of funding which may include sponsored research, and federal restricted funds, grants and contracts. Performs audit function to assure accuracy and compliance with internal and external regulations. Selects and applies established procedures appropriately. Updates supervisor on status of projects as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Update/completion of accounting record keeping systems/processes (e.g., stamping “PAID” payment vouchers in Finance SharePoint, upload proof of payment in DPA, etc.) and procedures for tracking and reporting the accounting/finance records
  • Sends payment advice to suppliers
  • Assist in the preparation and issuance of vendors’ BIR 2307 and maintenance SP folder for BIR 2307 forms
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and internal control theories and practices. Working knowledge of general office practices and administrative procedures
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions). Familiarity with accounting software is a plus
  • Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or its equivalent. Typically requires at least 1 year of accounting or finance experience
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with client and staff
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
  • Computer spreadsheet experience required
  • Prior experience working with international NGOs and government organizations will be an advantage
