The Position:
This internship is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with an initial duration of 4 months and the possibility of extension subject to available funding.
Applicants must be nationals of, legal residents or have the right to work in Denmark, as the internship will
require physical presence at the office in Copenhagen.
The internship will be located in the UNFPA Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Under the leadership and guidance of Team Lead of the Supply Chain Solutions, Multilateral Team. The intern
will be responsible for supporting the business needs of the unit at the SCMU and working in collaboration
with other SCMU units such as Supply Chain Solutions Team, the Development Procurement Services Team,
Strategic Sourcing Team, Quality Assurance and Technical Team, IT team, Communications Team and
Operations team.
The Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU) provides UNFPA Country Offices (COs), UNFPA Regional Offices
(ROs) and external partners such as governments, non-governmental organizations, Global Fund and Global
Fund Principal Recipients and other United Nations Agencies, with procurement and logistics services and
advice, that come within UNFPA’s mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of the team lead, and/or other members of the team, support the streamlining of the procurement function of the UNFPA Multilateral team – Global Fund partnership and UN entities through the identification of potential process improvements.
- Provide support to the unit in the preparation of the presentation for Business Review meetings with the Global Fund (GF) and for UN entities.
- Provide support in the preparation and timely submission of KPIs reports and any other required reports to Global Fund; and prepare any data analysis that may be requested by the team lead.
- Provide assistance in cleaning raw data and preparing them for analysis, conduct explorator data analysis, highlight data trends and analytic opportunities that can drive UNFPA procurement services group innovations. Including preparation of flowcharts, diagrams, charts, presentations, among other visualization tools.
- Support the team in ensuring that all necessary data and information being generated from the different tools (including Wambo and Coupa, and related GF tools) is up to date and available and accessible to all the different users.
- Assist with Producing 12 reports to the donor on a weekly basis, identify trends to enhance future supply planning and improve our partners programmatic activities, interpret complex data sets from the implementing partners in support of the supply chain management activities.
- Support the team in ensuring the UNFPA and Wambo procurement catalogue are updated and aligned on a regular basis (product description, prices and registrations).
- Help provide support with data entry and analysis, as required, and support in the transition from the Order Management System (OMS) to the StoreFront application, and integration with the ERP system.
- Provide support to TPP team with improvement of its monitoring tool and KPI reports.
- Provide practical support to relevant working groups, organize and coordinate meetings, conference calls and visits, as required.
- Prepare talking points and take notes in key meetings.
- Other assigned duties as needed related to the intern post.

Eligibility Criteria, Skills, and Experience
Candidates for the internship positions are selected on a competitive basis. The following minimum
qualifications are required:
● Students should be enrolled in an advanced degree programme or have graduated within the last 12
months;
● Graduate-level degree program in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Economics,
Information Technology, International Relations, International Development, International
Cooperation, Global Studies, Public Administration, Political Sciences, Business Administration, or
other relevant subject, from a recognized university, business school or research centre.
● Demonstrated interest and experience in the field of data analysis, supply chain management or
international development.
● Language skills: Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Proficiency in another United
Nations working language, especially Spanish or French is a differential. Working knowledge in
Russian, Chinese or Arabic is also an asset.
● Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, Google applications such as Google Suite, Data Mining and
Analytics, Dashboards and searching engines on the web.

Financial Aspects
Interns will receive a stipend from UNFPA to partially subsidise their basic living costs for the duration of the
internship. In addition, applicants must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship such as the
Danish public healthcare insurance. Proof of insurance will need to be submitted before the internship begins
