Within IFC, the Corporate Portfolio Management (CPM) Department, under the IFC Senior Vice President of Operations, is responsible for: (i) providing corporate and strategic level reports and reviews of IFC’s investment pipeline, program and portfolio, including granular data and historical and forward looking analytics of trends, risks, and profitability; (ii) providing thought leadership on how IFC can create a portfolio that balances profitability, risk and development impact; (iii) systematically capturing lessons of experience, with the goal of these being incorporated into IFC’s strategy and new investments, in order to improve IFC’s performance and outcomes; (iv) developing, and supporting the management of, portfolio systems as well as portfolio related knowledge tools.

The Reporting, Analytics & Integrity Due Diligence Research team (CPMRA) oversees provision and update of accurate, consistent, and timely operational reports and data.  CPMRA’s key accountabilities are: CPMRA’s key accountabilities are:

•  Lead the design and preparation of IFC operational reports and analytical products relevant to IFC Management and the Board.
•  Develop reports, analytical tools and dashboards that provide data-driven insights on IFC Operations.
•  Ensure high quality, timely and efficient process with delivery of all reports.
•  Support corporate reporting and data management initiatives.
•  Help IFC optimize and promote the use of accurate, consistent, and timely operational data.

CPMRA is seeking to recruit an Operations Analyst to join our dynamic team.
Note: if the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment.  All others will be offered a 3-year term appointment.

Duties and Accountabilities

Specific duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

•  Provide analytical support related to IFC Operations, including working with colleagues in departments across IFC to help prepare various operational reports.
•  Contribute to talking points, briefs, and presentations for IFC Management and the Board.
•  Review and respond to ad-hoc requests from colleagues across World Bank Group, in coordination with other team members and relevant subject matter experts
•  Support Private Capital Mobilization (PCM) and Core Mobilization (CM) related reporting, analytics, presentations, etc.
•  Support initiatives and collaborate across departments to enhance reporting processes to improve efficiency and promote automation.
•  Support innovations in reporting and analytics space (e.g., development of dashboards and reports) and identify new opportunities to leverage data science.
•  Work closely with and support Data Scientist expert and collaborate with other Data Science colleagues across CPM
•  Participate in working groups, committees, and other initiatives to support achievement of the unit and department’s objectives.
•  Support the complex research/exploratory analytics by diagnosing specific problems and identifying emerging issues/trends.
•  Support knowledge sharing related to IFC Operations reporting and analytics; Support Pipeline Coordination and development of intranet space and tip sheets.
•  Support other ad-hoc assignments/requests and provide support to other team members when needed. 

 

Selection Criteria

•  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (business, economics, international development, Finance, data science, or political science), with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree would be preferred.
•  Proven ability to synthesize large volumes of data, prepare quantitative and qualitative reports and analysis, and summarize key messages for presentation to senior management. Power BI, Business Objects and Tableau experience are strongly preferred.
•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; sound business judgment to identify issues and present creative and practical solutions.
•  Ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear, and concise manner to enable decision-making.
•  Familiarity with IFC/World Bank operations, procedures, and culture will be strongly preferred. Familiarity with IFC operations portals and systems, and data structure will be a strong plus.
•  Productive and comfortable at multi-tasking, with the capacity to work under pressure, capable of taking initiative and working independently under limited supervision.
•  Should be a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, internationally diverse work environment.
•  Highly personal integrity, strong values, and ethics.
•  Keen interest in development finance and multicultural environments.
