Our Medical Coordinator Support plays a key role in assisting the Medical Coordinator, ensuring that medical programmes are effectively managed and quality care is provided to patients and their communities.
From overseeing the implementation of medical activities to managing staff and resources, Medical Coordinator Support is integral to MSF’s operations. They work closely with local and national authorities to ensure alignment with health policies and adherence to MSF’s medical protocols.

- Monitor, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of medical activities in projects, visiting sites and assisting in defining human resource, material, and technical needs.
- Ensure adherence to MSF protocols, (para)medical standards, hygiene rules, and universal precautions.
- Collect and analyse epidemiological data and information on national health policy.
- Oversee the medical follow-up of patients in collaboration with medical staff, managing treatments, patient discharge, and associated medical expenses.
- Support and supervise project teams and participate in the recruitment, training, and management of the medical team, including conducting briefings, debriefings, and performance evaluations.
- Apply employee health policy, evaluate hospital structures, and monitor the health of MSF personnel, overseeing medical expenses for consultations and hospitalisations.
- Participate in the management of the central pharmacy and guide the logistics team in drug stock management.
- Collect, manage, and archive project data and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Medical Coordinator, such as field team support or involvement in evaluations.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor diploma or equivalent in a related allied health field.
- Training or experience in tropical medicine and/or public health.
- Emergency experience.
- Experience working in a developing country.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent command of English and French; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
- Essential computer literacy (Word, Excel, and Internet).
