The Opportunity

This position is responsible for regular routine components of the project activities implementation of this education project the response. the need to coordinate with other response team members and Plan staff,

especially implementation management, protection, and other relevant technical sectors, to ensure a rapid, proportionate, and effective response. The need also to cooperate in the response to immediate child education issues with

simultaneous consideration of longer-term needs and possible scenarios. The officer may be expected to take a very active role in technical coordination, support, and advocacy with the woreda specific education Clusters and other

stakeholders and technical agencies relevant to the sector with the consultation of the field level project coordinator.

The Individual

• B.A. degree in Education, pedagogy, Psychology, and social science.
• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience as an Education Officer.
• Minimum of two successful assignments in a complex IDP emergency situation (at least one of these must be a level post).
• Experience with the following technical areas:
• Mobilizing and training of school teachers.
• Participation and coordination with Education Cluster.
• Knowledge and Experience in formal and non-formal education.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
• Understand and put into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC).
• Ensure that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
• Ensure that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
