CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-directed, service-oriented person for the position of Plumbing Technician to work in the CIMMYT Maintenance unit.

This consultancy will be located at CIMMYT headquarters in El Batán, Texcoco, Mexico.

Main responsibilities:

• Carry out preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of painting, welding, door repairs, aluminum, sanding and general maintenance.

• Have knowledge in autogenous welding.
• Have knowledge of boilers.
• Have knowledge of stews.
• Have knowledge of pumps.
• Have knowledge of hydropneumatics.
• Have knowledge of treated water plants.
• Have knowledge of plus tube, copper, PVC, CPV.
• Keep your necessary tools and work equipment in the best working conditions and report any failure to your immediate supervisor.
• Have knowledge of compressors.
• Keep track of service orders and logs.
• Carry out the area activities assigned to you by your immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• The position holder must have a technical degree in maintenance or similar.
• The candidate must have a minimum of four years’ experience occupying a similar position.
• The owner must be a responsible, honest, dynamic person, with initiative and possess a sense of order and cleanliness.
• The post holder must comply with established safety regulations.
• Availability is required to rotate shifts and work on weekends and holidays, in accordance with the instructions of your immediate supervisor.
• The candidate must demonstrate a sense of urgency and commitment to his/her responsibilities and deadlines.
• The position holder must demonstrate the following skills: Teamwork, Service orientation, Communication and Proactivity.
