UNICEF’s priority is to strengthen actions to protect the rights of children and adolescents, which requires holding strategic meetings to analyze the activities of the programmatic areas and preparation meetings for the new Country Program on Climate Change issues.

The UNICEF Mexico program team (thematic areas and field offices) seek to have a joint vision on approaches to the protection of the rights of girls, boys and adolescents, on the necessary programmatic adjustments on climate change issues, and on points of action in the coming months and towards the preparation of the new Country Program (CPD) 2026-2030.

Facilitation services are requested for a reflection workshop on the integration of the climate change approach into UNICEF’s programmatic response, as well as towards the preparation of the new Country Program, which will be held in Mexico City from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Main activities

Main functions of the consultant:

  • Hold at least two (2) coordination meetings prior to each workshop or meeting with the coordinating team virtually, lasting approximately one hour each.
  • In-person facilitation of the workshop/meeting, discussion topics will be shared at coordination meetings.
  • Minutes on the points discussed, report and agreements of the workshop.

Deliverables

  • Deliverable 1:  Coordination Meeting. Two (2) coordination meetings prior to the workshop with the coordinating team in a virtual manner, lasting approximately one hour each.
  • Deliverable 2:  Climate Change Workshop. Workshop facilitation and note taking (9.5 hours of workshop)
  • Deliverable 3 : Minutes and report. Minutes of the points discussed, report and the main agreements of the workshop, in Word format.

Required Profile

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education, Pedagogy or similar.
  • A master’s degree in Education, Pedagogy or similar will be valued.
  • Having a diploma or certification to facilitate workshops will be valued.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in workshop facilitation activities, preferably in strategic planning.
  • Experience in making agreements, reporting and/or proposing agreements.
  • Previous knowledge and/or experience working with UNICEF and/or other UN agencies in Mexico will be an advantage.
  • Experience with topics related to the Programmatic Area (education, health and nutrition, child protection, social policy, etc.) will be an advantage

Languages:

  • Fluent Spanish
  • Fluent reading level in English 

Working conditions

This consultancy does not include travel. The person hired will work remotely during the planning of the workshop and the workshop will be delivered in person in Mexico City.

Successful candidates are subject to confirmation of their full vaccination status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment.
