Result of Service
Throughout the contractual term, the consultant is expected to: o Continuously monitors the availability and performance of Core organisational IT services, takes remedial actions on any incidents as required to guarantee Service availability. o Perform the upgrade and/or migration of the corporate Certificate Authority, propagate changes to all dependent systems and document all processes. o Performs routine administration and maintenance activities on the Storage environment, performance optimisation, archiving establishment, upgrades, updates, patching and conduct DR tests. o Performs routine upgrades, updates and patching to ensure resilience of system services. o Perform changes, upgrades and migrations of Systems to a standardised OS version and patch level. Develop automation of these processes where applicable. o Integration of SAAS or PAAS solutions into the ITC environment to enable seamless ITC User access. o Participate in the administration of the AD, Group Policy, Identity, Server (Virtualisation, compute and Storage) and Core Domain Services. o Timely escalation of support requests to vendor organisations supporting ITC core Systems, Server and Network infrastructure. o Deploy and prepare environments to host Services procured or developed in-house. o Update system documentation to include any changes made to existing configuration items. o Routinely report on status of incidents and support requests managed. o Timely resolution of Level 2 support requests within the agreed SLA.

Duties and Responsibilities
Background The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint technical cooperation agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization whose mandate is to promote export of goods and services from developing and transition economies. The ITC’s IT Infrastructure Unit, within the Information Technology and Systems Section (IT&S), under the Division of Programme Support (DPS) is among other things mandated to deliver IT Systems, Services and Infrastructure solutions to the business and end-users. The Unit is responsible for the delivery and operation of IT Services, maintenance of the ITC corporate data centre (on-premises and cloud), implementation and administration of the ITC Network and Systems infrastructure and provision of proactive IT services and support to client departments of the ITC aiding them in delivering on their mandate. IT&S is therefore, looking for an Information Systems Engineer to among other things administer and manage the IT infrastructure elements consisting of domain services, servers, storage services, backup services, cloud services and hosting environments. Description of Duties/Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Manager, IT Services and Infrastructure the consultant will be responsible for the following duties: o Operates and maintains the Organizations IT Systems comprising of Data Centre, Cloud platforms, Core Server Infrastructure, Virtualized Systems, monitoring systems and user end-point systems: Maintains, upgrades, or enhances existing systems; troubleshoots and provides continuing support, continuous monitoring to ensure systems availability and performance; o Maintains the HyperV virtualization clusters and virtual servers: including deployment of security patches, ensuring entire infrastructures performance optimization and availability as per agreed business requirements for internal and external user communities; o Operates and maintains delegated M365 services and Azure environments: including service integrations, identity and access management, administration and integration of additional SAAS cloud environments as required; o Assists in the analysis, design and implementation of IT Systems and Security projects in close collaboration with other network and systems officers; follows through on monitoring and responds to security alerts as per agreed business requirements; o Assists in the review, testing and implementation of desktop operating systems, security updates, software applications and overall monitoring of the end-users computing environment; o Assists in providing technical support to the Information Systems & Development Team for the integration and design of applications and maintenance of the related hosting systems; o Participates in the implementation and administration of monitoring systems for all IT infrastructure core elements and major applications; o Assists in managing Disaster recovery architecture: Storage and Virtualisation Replica DR test plan to ensure that storage, recovery procedures are functioning correctly; o Communicates regularly with technical, operational and development staff to ensure that IT infrastructure integrity and security is optimal; o Manage assigned level 2 support requests through to completion. o Any other duties as assigned. S/he has further to ensure to obtain accreditation to event(s), if required. Qualifications/special skills
University degree in Computer Science or related field. A minimum of five years professional experience in Systems administration and Systems Infrastructure, including deploying, configuring and administering Systems infrastructures. Experience with Active Directory Services. Experience with Azure and M365 administration and monitoring is required. Experience with InTune or similar end-point management solution is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Server and Client based Operating Systems and Microsoft Office applications in an enterprise environment. Knowledge of the IT environment within a UN organisation will be an asset. Knowledge of IT Service Desk functions will be an asset. Skills Knowledge and skills in Microsoft technologies: Windows server 2016 or later, Active Directory services, HyperV, SharePoint, IIS, SQL, System Center (SCCM, DPM, SCSM, SCVMM, Orchestrator, Endpoint protection). Knowledge of Active Directory Services (ADDS, ADFS, ADCS). Knowledge of HP Storage systems, Synology Network attached Storage systems. Knowledge of Data Backup and Restore practices, approaches to data availability for Disaster Recovery purposes and an in-depth understanding of multi-tiered storage implementations inclusive of archiving. Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune and Azure administration and monitoring. Knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft Office applications in an enterprise environment. Knowledge of server virtualisation environments. Knowledge of business and IT analysis techniques and methods. Understanding of Network design topology, prototyping and documentation standards. Understanding of Cisco wired and wireless network environments.
