1. BACKGROUND
IUCN, the International Union for Conservation of Nature, is a membership Union composed of both government and civil society organizations. IUCN’s program in Asia is coordinated out of its Asia Regional Office (ARO) in Bangkok where the IUCN Thailand team is based. In Thailand, IUCN’s project portfolio covers protected areas, coastal and marine, water and wetlands, forest landscape restoration, and species conservation. IUCN serves as the Regional Implementation Team for the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) program in the Indo-Burma Hotspot.

2. MAJOR DUTIES
– Serve as the CEPF National Coordinator for Thailand.
– Provide administrative and technical assistance to all staff as needed.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Project Coordination and Delivery:
o Provide technical input and coordinate project implementation in line with work plans and budgets.
o Work closely with grantees, National Advisory Committee (NAC) members, and government partners institutions, as well with external consultants as required to implement project activities.
o Document and maintain records of all grantees and stakeholder engagement activities.
o Provide implementation support to project partners where required.
o Identify and develop opportunities for partnerships with local stakeholders to meet project outcomes.
o Facilitate and assist visits by donors, government officials and consultants as needed.
o Organize and lead meetings with local project partners and stakeholders.
o Ensure that lessons learnt in relevant projects are documented and internalized in the current and future work of the projects and IUCN Thailand.
o Work with M&E officer to ensure strong links between communications/knowledge management and programme coordination and delivery.
o Translate project outputs from English to Thai and vice versa as required.

• Project Planning, Monitoring and Reporting:
o Prepare project work plans and budgets for project activities
o Manage project funds for activities as required and taking responsibility for expenditures of project funds and reporting field expenditures.
o Prepare progress reports, and coordinate with the relevant finance units to prepare financial reports for internal and external audiences.

• Other Duties
Carry out other relevant tasks assigned by, and mutually agreed with, the line manager.

4. POST REQUIREMENTS
– Bachelor or equivalent degree preferably in biology, natural resources management, environmental sciences, forestry, international development or a relevant field.
– Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on project implementation, preferably in a non-profit or development sector.
– Familiarity with grant making processes
– Willingness to frequently travel within the country, sometimes at short notice.
– Efficient command of written and spoken English.
– Computer literacy in MS Office packages.
– Excellent organizational skills, team-oriented attitude, problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
– Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and prioritize needs.
