JOB DESCRIPTION

The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a global project focused on HIV, global health security, and combatting trafficking in persons using funding from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). EpiC is seeking a qualified and motivated Vietnamese candidate to serve as a Project Officer based in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. The individual will be responsible for supporting a team working to advance the use of medical oxygen systems in hospitals, improve mental health for healthcare workers, and develop national-level health policy.

This is a limited term position, October 2024 through January 2025.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of learning programs, workshops, and webinars.
  • Facilitate the development/modification of online and offline course content.
  • Create user accounts and monitor progress of learners in online courses.
  • Manage logistics for offline training efforts including scheduling, participant communication, material preparation, data collection, and improvement efforts.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of learning activities.
  • Support the administration of online and offline assessments.
  • Create scopes of work and other procurement-related documents.
  • Oversee consultants and coordinate technical staff contributions to surveys and assessments.
  • Translate documents from English to Vietnamese and Vietnamese to English.
  • Ensure relevant project deliverables are on-time and on-budget.
  • Assist in the development of reports, knowledge products, and other written and visual deliverables.
  • Facilitate the classification, tagging, and indexing of documents in SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to identify and share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, take meeting minutes, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and abilities for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, industrial maintenance, medicine, or other relevant area.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Experience working on donor funded, ideally USAID, projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Vietnamese
  • Professional experience working with an international organization, ideally USAID-funded.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
