Result of Service
The individual contractor will provide general project support to the delivery of UNEP’s activities relatedto the implementation of ICCM Resolution V/9 on the Measurability Structure of the Global Frameworkon Chemicals. In particular, the individual contractor will provide substantive and logistic support to the task team on the high-level indicator on the global environmental burden attributable to chemicals and waste, which is led by UNEP, as well as technical input to other workstreams established under the open-ended ad hoc group on measurability and indicators.

Duties and Responsibilities
The individual contractor will support the delivery of activities related to the implementation of ICCM Resolution V/9 on the Measurability Structure of the Global Framework on Chemicals and the work of the open-ended ad hoc group on measurability and indicators, including the work under the task team on the high-level indicator on the global environmental burden attributable to chemicals and waste lead by UNEP. The individual contractor will support the delivery of the following tasks: • Meeting organization and delivery: support the organization and delivery of meetings of the task team on the high-level indicator on the global environmental burden attributable to chemicals and waste and preparatory meetings, including development of draft concepts/programmes and presentations, note taking, key takeaways, compilation of presentations, coordination with partners, liaison with participants, logistical support. • Data gathering and analysis: support the collection of relevant data from internal and external sources of relevance to the development of a high-level indicator on the global environmental burden; develop data gathering tools to solicit input from stakeholders; conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis. • Research and background documentation: conduct desk review and develop summary analysis/background documentation on aspects related to the development of the high-level indicator such as criteria, constituting elements, construct and methodology, operationalization,approaches for testing and validation. • Progress report: prepare draft report for the reporting on progress of the task team, draft input /presentations to briefings. • Input to other workstreams: contribute data and insights to other workstreams established underthe open-ended ad hoc group on measurability and indicators, including through participation inexpert and stakeholder meetings, internal reports, consolidation of input to consultations, draft briefings or presentations as appropriate. • Support to other administrative and organizational tasks related to the project.
Qualifications/special skills
Academic: An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in a field related toenvironmental or chemical sciences, sustainable development, economics, econometrics, statistics,mathematics, data science/analysis, political or social sciences is required. A first level degree in the specified field(s) along with two additional years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the above-mentioned advanced degree. Fully proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software e.g., including knowledge management and data visualization tools, as well as data collection and analysis methods. Strongcommu nication skills. At least five years of relevant professional experience in a field related to sustainable development, international chemicals, waste management, socio-economic research/data analysis, applied statistics, data sciences is required. Working experience(s) in knowledge management, data collection and analysis and/or development of indicators or monitoring frameworks is required. Working experience on composite indicators is an asset
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of other United Nations languages is an asset.
