JOB DESCRIPTION

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.

We won’t stop until we are all equal.

Purpose of the position

Plan International is currently preparing to implement the Project ‘Benin-Togo Cross-Border Stabilization Focused on Infrastructure, Social Cohesion and Youth Entrepreneurship, Gender-Sensitive and Inclusive’ in the Kara Region. This project will target, on behalf of Togo, the cantons bordering Benin in the Prefectures of Binah (Solla, Boufalé, Pagouda, Kétao, Kémérida, Sirka); Kozah (Kpinzindè) and Assoli (Soudou). The project aims to stabilize the regions of North-East Togo and North-West Benin, by strengthening the social cohesion and resilience of the local population, especially young people particularly affected by the spillover of the Sahelian crisis and its extension to these two regions.

The purpose of the Project Coordinator position is to ensure the programmatic management of the project including reporting, monitoring, advocacy, communication, partnership, administration and logistics while ensuring the full and active participation of women, youth and people with disabilities.

Post Dimensions

The incumbent supervises the project team and works closely with the local implementing actors, including the partner cantons, the implementing partner and technical services.

He/she ensures the implementation, monitoring and evaluation, produces and submits project activity and financial reports, in accordance with organizational and donor requirements.
