3 months (initially) to be extended for additional 3 months based on performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Policy and Planning Intern will undertake a variety of tasks to support the OHCHR Planning Function in the successful completion of its Work Plan. Under the direction and supervision of the Programme Management Officer, the intern shall undertake the following tasks in relation to Planning, Project Management and Capacity Development: • Assists in the review of project proposals. • Assists in the organization of physical and virtual consultations around the implementation of 2024-2027 Organizational Management Plan (OMP). • Assists in the analysis of data relating to the implementation of the OMP. • Assist in tracking the submissions and quality assurance of programme monitoring reports to donors. • Assist the Leadership Team (LT), the Senior Executive Team (SET) and the Operations Group (OG) Secretariat function by ensuring all submissions meet all requirements and criteria as well as compiling and tracking decisions. • Assist in compiling, disseminating and updating of face-to-face and virtual capacity building tools and guidance for project management to all OHCHR implementation entities. • Assist in internal project management training according to OHCHR RBM Programming Manual; OHCHR Guidance for Project Management and Governance Structures, practices and lessons learned. • Undertake additional tasks as required.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a second university degree, equivalent, or higher; (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants are not required to have previous work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is an advantage. Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.
