JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a hybrid position which requires 8 days per month in the office. You can be based in our office inIndonesia. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

 

About the Program:

 

P4G – Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 – contributes to green and inclusive growth in low and middle-income countries by helping early-stage climate businesses become investment ready and supporting national climate platform connections in food, water and energy systems. Hosted by World Resources Institute and funded by Denmark, the Netherlands and the Republic of Korea, P4G partner countries include Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kenya, South Africa and Vietnam. P4G provides grants and technical assistance to early-stage climate businesses within a broader partnership in order to improve their investor readiness. All partnerships are aligned to national priorities as defined in the NDCs and coordinated by each of P4G’s nine government-led P4G National Platforms. The partnerships and the National Platforms engage together on sector specific policy and regulatory changes to enable business growth. P4G captures and mobilizes knowledge around these public-private pathways to increase the flow of global climate finance to local climate businesses.

 

Job Highlight:

 

Reporting to the P4G Asia Regional Investment Manager, you will support Indonesia’s P4G National Platform (NP), including outreach to key stakeholders in government and the private sector, support for existing P4G partnerships in country, and the development of potential innovative partnerships aligned with P4G’s funding criteria and the National Platform’s priorities for climate targets and sustainable development. You will support P4G in ensuring consistency of activities to improving the green growth enabling systems with the engagement of government and private sector leaders across P4G ODA eligible countries. You will be supported by the P4G Global Hub, and work within the broader WRI and P4G Asia teams.

 

What will you do:

 

National Platform Liaison (30%): –

 

  • Actively engage Indonesia NP co-chairs and stakeholders including government ministries (core economic/development/ planning ministries), private sector (business associations), and the startup entrepreneurship network
  • Prepare relevant documents for NP to engage more deeply with partnerships and that will provide necessary background in case of National Platform staffing transitions (e.g., MOUs, recommitment letters, briefing materials for new country Global Advisory Council members and/or focal points)
  • Develop and implement Indonesia’s National Platform Implementation Plan in coordination with NP and Hub including leading on activities such as sector-specific workshops, business matchmaking sessions in country and partnership site visits
  • Utilize the P4G Platform to further the climate finance agenda in country
  • Implement stakeholder meetings with National Platform and update the National Platform with the progress of partnerships

 

Partnerships (30%): –

  • Develop network to source partnerships that are a P4G fit in accordance with our guidelines
  • Source a pipeline of high potential prospective partnerships and support 2-4 concept note developments and on-site due diligence per selection round
  • Oversee P4G partnerships active in country. Visit partnership sites at least once per year, convene regular (monthly or quarterly) update calls with partnerships, coordinate with Global Hub and NP on any issues, and preparing periodic update reports
  • Engage in active acceleration of current partnerships. Includes NP meetings with all current partnerships at least once per year, ideally at kick off of each round, midway through implementation, and at closeout. Convene meetings with Partnerships, including facilitating introductions to relevant ministries or regulatory bodies and hosting workshops
  • Facilitate P4G advice on partnerships even beyond P4G funding and connect to alternative investors and/or funding sources

 

P4G Fundraising (20%): –

 

  • Support with Indonesia’s P4G’s fundraising strategy and concept notes
  • Engage with stakeholders together with Regional Manager for National Platform institutionalization and fundraising

 

P4G Engagement (20%):-

 

  • Outreach to broader country stakeholders including government ministry(ies), private sector, and entrepreneur network
  • Organize and contribute to global high-level events that are important to P4G and NP priorities
  • Support NP engagement in P4G Board meetings, Summit, and relevant events
  • Arrange P4G Mission Trips to country

 

What will you need:

 

  • Education: You have completed a bachelor’s degree in relevant field, i.e. Sustainability, business, finance, international development, political science.
  • Experience: You have a minimum of 5 years of full-time relevant work experience engaging with government officials
  • Experience working in multi-stakeholder groups on policy or regulatory reform, as well as experience working with international development and/or finance agencies
  • Experience working in sustainable development initiatives or sectors related to climate change, ideally, clean energy, water systems and resilience, food loss and waste and climate smart agriculture
  • Experience working in challenging, cross-sectoral, multi-cultural, fast-paced environments and ability to work independently are a must
  • Experience working in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC)
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Languages: Fluency in English in written and oral communications required
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization

 

Potential Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
