BACKGROUND
Purpose of Activity/Assignment:
UNICEF seeks a consultant to update & develop workforce development materials, strengthen S/NLWGs, support professionalization of supply chains, & foster gender integration in immunization efforts. The consultant will also work on continuous improvement initiatives & collaborate with a wide range of partners. The consultancy assignment will be supervised by the Health Specialist, Immunization Supply Chain & the consultant will collaborate with a wide range of partners in iSC2, regions & countries.

Qualifications
1) Education
An advanced University Degree in Engineering, Public Health, Supply Chain, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration or related field is required or other relevant fields. Additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the master’s degree. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
2) Work experience
At least 8 years of experience in international public health programming including at least 3 years in immunization and immunization supply chains, with experience in low and middleincome countries. Familiarity with incountry immunization supply chain processes and strengthening such as stock and logistics management, inventory policies, allocation, ordering and distribution strategies, temperature monitoring, waste management and other supply chain operations. Very good experience and knowledge of countries’ iSC capacity/workforce development interventions, including potential for impact and challenges. Very good experience and knowledge of countries’ iSC governance/S/NLWGs strengthening practices, and related challenges. Very good experience of the effective vaccine management (EVapproach (and overall comprehensive vaccine management approacincluding conducting EVM assessments, developing and tracking the continuous improvement plans (cIPKnowledge of iSC professionalization and gender mainstreaming practices in iSC and broader health systems. Experience with engaging multiple stakeholders at countries’ national and subnational levels, including communicating ideas in a collegiate manner. Experience with developing high quality technical documents including academic articles, case studies, news articles etc.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicabland health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fullyvaccinated status against SARSCoV2 (Covid19) with a World Health Organization (WHendorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
