UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 8 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA’s services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance, and emergency assistance. Responsibilities
• Undertakes regular visits to UNRWA health centres according to a rotating working schedule in coordination with the FDCO.in order to examine, treat and follow up on patients referred to by Medical Officers using appointment system. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible to examine, treat, and follow up urgent cases referred by the MOs within the same day. • Maintains records of patients on the electronic medical records (EMsystem and provides statistical data and relevant information on such patients to the Field Office on monthly/ Quarterly basis. • Plans and directs the inservice training of Medical Officers on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases in coordination with the Field Disease Control Officer. • Maintains an effective system of referral, and feedback within the health centre and from contracted and government hospitals and refers refugee patients through hospitalization management system. • Ensures that equipment and supplies are maintained, and techniques are performed in accordance with standard Agency procedures. • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
