Do you have an interest in Finance & Project Control (FP? Join our team, focused on providing the project control systems, tools, procedures and training to other units in the Project to support their capability in planning, scheduling and cost control of their scope of activities.
As a Cost Estimator, your goals include:
- Providing cost estimation services to the ITER Organization (Iand applying the IO’s methods to perform cost estimates, which are primarily focused on system or project changes as required by the technical units;
- Ensuring that the project maintains a high level of transparency in terms of cost estimates of work prior to contract placement, as per the ITER Council (Iapproved baseline and IO rules and regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs cost estimations for changes to the IC approved baseline generated due to Project change requests;
- Analyses tender returns for cost comparison during the procurement process;
- Revises the cost estimates for baseline scope reflecting advancing design maturity;
- Implements defined IO project management procedures as they effect cost estimation, especially with respect to escalation time frames in the event of cost estimation delays;
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborates with technical units to ensure that scope statements are comprehensive and provides guidance and advice for improvements when necessary;
- Verifies that a specific scope is aligned with the boundary for the IO assembly and installation cost estimate on specific request;
- Proposes improvements for cost estimation efficiency and effectiveness;

- Essential competencies and experience:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in cost estimation, ideally in the field of construction of power plants or other large industrial plants
- Cost Management: Knowledge of general cost estimating principles and methodologies;
- Project Management: Knowledge of basic project management principles (scheduling, cost, scope, risk, qualit;
- Using IT project management tools such as Primavera or MS Project, At Risk, or equivalent, with Excel expert user capability.

- Desirable competencies and experience:
- Hands on experience of Cleopatra is considered a strong asset;
- Communicate Effectively: Ability to adjust communication content and style to deliver messages to work effectively in a multicultural environment;
- Manage Complexity: Ability to analyze multiple and diverse sources of information to understand problems accurately before moving to proposals;
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, science mathematics, business administration or other relevant discipline;
- Cost estimation certification (i.e. from AACEI or equivalent bodis preferred;
- The required education degree may be substituted by extensive professional experience involving similar work responsibilities and/or additional training certificates in relevant domains.
