About the Position
WorldFish is looking for a Post Doctoral Fellow, Fisheries Assessment & Management to be based in Mozambique (location flexible upon discussio. This position is right for you if you have an advanced degree in fisheries ecology, management or a related discipline, extensive field experience in a Portuguese speaking developing country context, an interest in digital innovation and a genuine desire to make a difference.
This position will be responsible for the daytoday implementation and coordination of the Mozambique activities of the Digital Coasts work package of the AsiaAfrica BlueTech Superhighway project, funded by the UK Government. The project will be conducted in close collaboration with MIMAIP and its relevant agencies (ADNAP, IDEP, and in partnerships with universities and NGOs. The position will work with national and international fisheries, governance, gender and nutrition specialists to develop and implement research approaches, technologies, and predictive models that guide fisheries decisionmaking and policy in Mozambique.

This is an Internationally Recruited Staff (IRposition with annual salary ranging between USD 43,000 to USD 52,000 per annum. WorldFish’s IRS shall receive comprehensive health insurance, life insurance, accident, and longterm disability insurance. Internationally recruited staff employed outside of their home base/country of nationality will also be eligible to receive relocation assistance, a housing allowance, homeleave plane tickets for self and eligible dependents and education assistance for schoolage dependents between age 4 and high school graduation.
The duration of the contract will initially be for a twoyear period with possibility for extension, depending on funding and performance. All benefits are subject to terms and conditions.
