JOB DESCRIPTION

Position:                                   MEL Officer (Information Management)

Reports to:                                MEL and Information Management Coordinator

Supervision of:                           N/A

Duty station:                              Yangon, Myanmar

Duration and type of contract:    until 31 May 2025 (renewable based on performance and availability of funding)

  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
  • Implement delegated tasks according to plan of action
  • Ensure that information management and reporting processes are accurate and conducted in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that data quality monitoring of activities is conducted, and key findings are shared within the team for further improvement.
  • Provide specific technical support and capacity building towards partners, under the supervision of the Information Management Coordinator.
  • Assess, promote, and document ideas for technical improvement and options for further program development to support the Information Management Coordinator.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents

  • Experience working in Information Management within a humanitarian or recovery context.
  • Previous experience in complex and volatile environments.
  • Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position.
  • University degree in Information Technology, Social Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is preferred.
  • Good level of English, both written and verbal
  • Experience with database management, ODK and/or with humanitarian information management.
  • Good knowledge in the management and coordination of information flows, data management including collection, storing, processing and analysing data to generate information products.
  • Good knowledge of data visualization tools – Power BI is an asset.
  • Experience in utilizing QGIS.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential data with the clear understanding of data protection principle.
  • Demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies.
  • Experience in conducting, organising and managing assessments, surveys, and similar.
  • Advanced computer skills.
