UNDP has been working in Kuwait since 1962 cooperating with the Government and civil society to realize the country’s aspirations for sustainable human development. In view of Kuwait’s high human development status, UNDP programming is fully-funded by the state of Kuwait. Programming is designed to support the state of Kuwait to meet its national developmental priorities. Together with the aims of the UN Charter, these national priorities form the basis of all UNDP programming in Kuwait. UNDP partners with all Kuwaiti stakeholders to build national capacity to develop a more efficient public sector, support women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability and private sector development. Our national implementing partner is the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (SCPD).

Duties and Responsibilities

As part of its communication strategy, UNDP Kuwait aims to document its activities and results through high-quality video content that effectively communicates its impact to a wide range of audiences, including the public, government stakeholders, and international partners. To this end, UNDP Kuwait seeks to engage a professional videographer NPSA contract on retainer basis to produce, edit, and finalize videos that highlight UNDP’s work in Kuwait. The consultant will work closely with the Communications officer and the team to develop a series of videos covering various thematic areas, including governance, climate action, social inclusion, and youth empowerment.

As such, the selected individual consultant will be responsible for providing the services outlined below:

  • Collaborate and provide creative input with UNDP Kuwait’s team to develop concepts, scripts, and storyboards for each video;
  • Plan and execute all aspects of video production, including site visits, filming, sound recording, and lighting;
  • Edit raw footage to create compelling videos;
  • Ensure all videos adhere to UNDP branding guidelines and visual identity;
  • Incorporate sound design, music, voiceovers, music, and subtitles as necessary to enhance the final product;
  • Edit high-resolution digital images;
  • Provide multiple drafts for review and incorporate feedback from UNDP Kuwait’s team;
  • Deliver final videos in various formats suitable for online platforms and social media.

After submission of the videos, the consultant will receive comments from the team within 5 working days. It is expected from the consultant to submit edited versions within 5 working days after receiving comments.

The consultant should have professional animation software and related tools necessary for high-quality animation production.

All deliverables should be delivered to the UNDP team.

The consultant will report to the UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Kuwait.

Required Skills and Experience

6. Min. Academic Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Arts / Multimedia / Film Production or any other related field.
Min. years of relevant Work experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in film production and videography.
Required skills and competencies
  • Demonstrated expertise in all phases of video production, including pre-production, filming, and post-production.
  • Portfolio of at least 5 videos.
  • Experience in creating content for social media and knowledge of best practices for video distribution online.
  • Experience in development related fields is an asset.
  • Experience with International Organizations/UN is an asset.
  • Must have all the necessary video and sound equipment, and drone camera with the necessary technical skills to use it.
Desired additional skills and competencies
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines amending the drafts based on the team’s feedback.
  • Having a flexible schedule.
  • Good communication skills included proficiency in English Languages.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.

Required Language(s) (at working level) Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills in both Arabic & English are required.
