How can you make a difference?

The role of the post is to support users to ensure that effective and efficient solutions are provided to business applications and GSSC process/policy related questions received via incidents and general enquiries. Facilitate communication between users, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and IT Management. Escalates incidents from users; maintains relevant documentation on known issues, processes and procedures related to the Business Team.

Summary of Key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Provide Business Processes and Solutions Service support with the main focus on business applications and associated queries
  2. Provide support to complex Finance/MDM queries escalated by the business team via Service Gateway
  3. Knowledge management within Customer Care
  4. Review quality of answers of Finance and MDM cases
  5. Prepare/update of knowledge articles related to Finance in collaboration with Finance and MDM sections
  6. Contribute to projects and additional ad-hoc activities

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is a minimum requirement, supplemented with university-level courses or formal courses in Finance/Human Resources/Business Administration/International Studies/Information Technology  or equivalent specialized training is an asset. –ITIL Foundation Certificate or equivalent customer support certification is an asset
  • Work Experience: 
    • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional work experience in information technology, requiring systematic methods of troubleshooting and problem solving is required.
    • Minimum 4 year of relevant work experience in systematic methods of troubling shooting and problem solving is required for candidates with completed bachelor’s degree. A relevant master’s degree replaces an additional two years of work experience.
    • Experience in Finance and related field is an asset.
    • Experience in assisting users on IT/ Business products and services and use of applications is required.
    • Good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Visio).
    • Knowledge of UNICEF’s ERP system (SAP/Vision) and Ticketing system (ServiceNow) is desirable.
    • Work experience at a Shared Services Center is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of GSSC processes, rules and procedures and the systems.
  • Ability to correctly and promptly identify problems, develop solutions and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrates courtesy, tact, patience, and ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
  • Language Requirements:
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
  • Internal applicants from GSSC are required to complete the Learning Path corresponding to their current level before applying for another position.
