The consultant will lead the development of a humancentered community engagement strategy, specifically s/he will advise on experience design workshops, relevant communications/engagement deliverables, and campaigns in the spirit of continuous improvement. S/he will also advise on improving experience for participants of Innovation Day, the NewWork community and Propellerrelated activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
Brief background: The SecretaryGeneral’s Common Agenda and vision for “United Nations 0” articulates the drive and impetus for organizational flexibility, agility, and transformation. The ability to deliver, to proactively respond to and even prevent future crises, depends on a fundamental rethinking of the UN’s organizational culture. NewWork is a grassroots community of United Nations staff who are innovating, collaborating, and adopting new ways of working. We aim to change our workplace culture and cultivate an agile, peoplefocused United Nations We do this by amplifying transformative initiatives and bridging silos through dialogue and creativity. The Business Transformation and Accountability Division (BTAplays a key role in coordinating the NewWork community in collaboration with other entities. Propeller is a business transformation initiative that helps organizations/teams plan and execute transformation and organizational culture change initiatives in a structured and agile manner. It is designed to support organizations/teams envision their future, translate their vision into strategy, and transform strategy into action, focusing on results. Reporting to the Innovation Team in the Analytics and Project Management Service (APof the Business Transformation and Accountability Division (BTA, the Experience Design Advisor will support the improvement and expansion of user engagement for NewWork and UN The Advisor will support alignment of initiatives and messaging to ensure a more humancentered focus. S/he will develop an engagement strategy to expand the scope of NewWork and align to culture change for UN 0 and oversee the development of key communications and engagement deliverables, with an emphasis on experience design, with a particular focus on enhancing focus on colleagues and initiatives in peacekeeping operations. The consultant must have proven experience in experience design, engagement, and presentation skills; experience supporting the implementation of complex peoplefocused projects; and proven track record of giving a brand purpose and meaning and demonstrating value to customers.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalenin user experience design, design & strategy, arts administration, or a related field. A firstlevel university degree in the specified fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. At least 7 years of engagement, experience design, design strategy, humancentered design, design thinking tools and methods, or related field is required. Experience with transformational projects and change initiatives with a variety of organizations, including international organizations and governments is required. Experience with experience design for global communitybuilding and staff engagement initiatives is desired.
