The Programme Support Officer reports to the Field Programme Support Officer .
Responsibilities
Coordinates all programme and project management processes within Jordan Field Office (JFand supports the strengthening of Project/Programme Cycle Management procedures, processes, structures and capacities at all management stages (assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and reportin. Establishs and/or strengthens processes to enhance regular review of programme and project performance, and support decisionmaking processes within the Field. Provides inputs and support to ensure quality and effective planning processes within UNRWA Jordan Field Office. Supports the implementation of the Field Strategic Plan (Sand subsequent annual work plans, and coordinates the identification of needs and priorities by providing technical support to programmes, departments and areas. In addition, enhances internal coordination by identifying areas requiring integrated programming and take the lead to develop joint activities involving two or more programmes. Supports the implementation of JFO’s strategic plan by developing and overseeing the implementation of, and reporting against annual work plans. Contributes to resource mobilization for the UNRWA Jordan Field Office by drafting high quality project proposals for regular and emergency projects. Ensures UNRWA’s participation and provide quality inputs to the development of joint projects with other UN Agencies in line with the Field’s priorities. Supports FPSO in providing guidance to D/DUA (Programme, and more generally to the Office of Field Director and senior management to enhance the quality and impact of JFO programmes and projects; contributes to build the capacity of programme staff in relation to programme management and planning; supports liaison with donors, Jordan authorities and other external stakeholders. Ensures the mainstreaming of crosscutting issues (youth, gender, disability, environment, mental health and psychosocial and accountability to affected populatiowithin all aspects of programme planning and implementation.

Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalenfrom an accredited educational institution in programme management, public or business administration, social sciences, or any related subject.

Work Experience
At least five years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in the field of programme or project management is required. Unless already serving as an international staff member in the UN Common System, at least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA and outside the country(of citizenship is required. Experience in project and/or programme management in a complex setting is required. Working knowledge of written and spoken Arabic is desirable. Working knowledge and experience of the Agency’s operations in the Middle East is desirable Knowledge of UNRWA Rules and Directives, and of the sources from which they are compiled is desirable Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalenfrom an accredited educational institution in programme management, public or business administration, social sciences, or any related subject is required.
Languages
Excellent command of spoken and written English is required. Working knowledge of written and spoken Arabic is desirable.
