CEO endorsement sections and appendices for the six GCMP child projects drafted, ensuring consistency, adherence to language standards and conformance with GEF style guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities
The tasks and responsibilities of the consultant will be as follows: • Draft descriptive sections for CEO endorsement documents and appendices based on inputs from project manager, BRS and Minamata secretariats, regional partners and other consultants for the six GCMP child projects (GEF ID 11535, 11536, 11537, 11538, 11539, 11540), including among others: o Alignment with the GEF focal areas. o Innovate, sustainability and potential to expand. o Environmental safeguard. o Safeguard Risk Identification Form (SRI. o Socialeconomic benefits. o Incremental cost reasoning and baseline contribution. o Administrative knowledge management. o Monitoring and evaluation. • Consolidate information and refine substantive sections based on inputs from project manager, BRS and Minamata secretariats, regional partners and other consultants for the six GCMP child projects to ensure consistency, adherence to language standards and conformance with GEF style guidelines, including among others: o Alternative scenario. o Project rationale. o Project description. o Logical framework, problem tree, solution tree, Theory of Change. o Institutional Arrangements. o Implementation arrangements. o Stakeholder engagement plan. o Gender and socialeconomic plan. o Communication and knowledge management strategy. o Consistency with national priorities. o Regional baseline assessment. • Provide support in stakeholder consultations and meetings as required. • Support other tasks as required.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalenin environmental science, environmental managemen1t, sustainable development, international relations or a related field. A firstlevel university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. o Proven experience in drafting comprehensive GEF project documents is required. o Experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, international organizations, and consultants, to gather inputs and finalize project documents is required. o Experience with rules of the UN, especially processes in relation to project development, roles of parties and other stakeholders and related technical terms is desirable.
Languages
English, Spanish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, excellent English writing skills are required. Knowledge of Spanish and French are desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
