About the job:
The work of the NTS Surveyor consists in conducting a safe, methodical and effective collection and analysis of new and / or existing information about the dangerous zone, with the aim of confirming the presence of evidence of danger or its absence, determining the type and degree of danger in any dangerous zone and determining the perimeters of actually dangerous zones without physical intervention.
Before starting work in this position, candidates must undergo appropriate training.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Assist the NTS Team Lead in the identification of areas for NTS processes through desk studies;
- Assist the NTS Team Lead in the planning of NTS/CL tasks;
- Implement NTS processes in compliance with relevant SOPs and guidelines, including desk research, individual interviews, focus group discussions, key stakeholders interviews and reporting;
- Assist marking activities in line with internal SOPs and National Mine Action Standards;
- Comply with timelines, deadlines, and quality standards and SOPs;
- Understand and follow all safety SOPs in Ukraine and communicate any change on the security situation to the NTS Team Lead;
- Conduct Community Liaison prior to, during and after clearance to guide the deployment of assets and verify the relevance of the intervention (including post clearance survey;
- Maintain working relations with local authorities and with communities of intervention;
- Maintain working relations and regular Communications with security stakeholders (police, military, civil defence, vigilantein the areas of operations in close collaboration with NTS Team Lead;
- Ensure and maintain the equipment in good condition and report any damage to the NTS Team Lead;
- All other responsibilities included into the approved NTS SOP.

About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 1 year of work experience in the field of humanitarian mine action and related fields and full understanding of its technical requirements and a certificate of successful NTS completion. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Mandatory skills and qualifications:
- Completion of the NTS training and safety training;
- First aid skills
- 1 year of work experience in the field of humanitarian mine action
Desirable:
- Knowledge of languages: Fluency in Ukrainian, English at an intermediate level.
- PC skills: Confident user of the Microsoft Office package (with a focus on Excel and Wor.
- Willingness to work at a distance from home for a long period of time.
- Excellent discipline and ability to follow direct instructions.
Education: basic higher education or secondary special education.
