IFC is recruiting an extended term consultant for a 1year period to support the delivery of IFC’s program across Brunei and Singapore country cluster. The consultant will be based in Singapore and will support the Country Manager, Country Team, and various other investment and advisory teams in work in these countries. The candidate will be responsible for a broad scope of tasks, such as preparation of key marketing materials, planning and execution of events and engagements, supporting the planning and execution of senior executive missions, supporting business development work and government relations in Singapore and Brunei, communication, and running research work to curate and distill content for IFC’s engagements.
Duties and Accountabilities:
• Working with the Country Team and various industry colleagues and specialists to support the IFC Singapore Hub activities, including implementation of Singapore hub thematic initiatives / flagship events, e.g. IFC Client Receptions, World Cities Summit, Asia Infrastructure Forum, Temasek Ecosperity Week / Singapore Sustainable Investing and Finance Conference, Singapore Summit / Philanthropic Asia Summit., and IFC business development / networking events (including activities in Brune, and lead the preparation and execution process for events and public engagements.
• Work with the Country Team to develop and execute events and initiatives related to knowledge sharing, capacity building and business development for the country cluster, including implementation of initiatives / events relating to areas such as Sustainable Finance, Circular Economy, Smart Cities, Venture Capital, Digital Economy.
• Support the preparation process for client engagement materials, such as general or thematic pitchbooks for client partners and materials for media engagement including presentations and talking points.
• Support business development efforts for the country cluster, including but not limited to infrastructure, utilities, renewables, manufacturing, agribusiness, financial services, venture capital and funds sectors. Activities will include conducting research to identify prospects, running due diligence, preparing for client meetings, tracking of prospects and investment pipeline, and supporting business events and engagements.
• Support the front office’s activities (i.e. organizing internal talks for visiting IFC colleagues and senior management, Open Mic Tuesday
• Support Country Team in planning and implementation of senior management visits, including coordination, speaking invitations, events management, and preparation of briefing books and backtooffice reports.
Selection Criteria
• Master’s degree in business, economics, marketing, or a related field with at least 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Attention to detail is important, with the candidate needing to arrange and execute potentially complex events and deliver reports and engagement summaries in a logical, concise, and precise manner.
• Distill and summarize large amounts of information from various sources to prepare business documents, presentations and talking points.
• Ability to conduct market research and run IDD checks, assessments of company business models and financial performance.
• Enthusiasm and comfort with working in multicultural teams and across borders and differing time zones. Business travel is required as part of the role.
• Ability to quickly learn IFC systems, frameworks, and processes.
• Knowledge of sectors relevant to IFC and emerging markets experience is preferred.
