The purpose of the consultancy is to provide guidance and support to Congo Meteorological Department (Dfor the finalization, implementation, and monitoring of the Congo National Framework for Climate Services (NFC.

BACKGROUND
To assist its Members, the WMO has prepared a Stepbystep Guidelines for Establishing a National Framework for Climate Services (NFCS, WMO1206) which provides guidance on settingup, implementing and monitoring the NFCS, a key coordination mechanism to bring together the local, national, regional and global stakeholders needed for successful generation and delivery of codesigned and coproduced climate services.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor degree in atmospheric sciences, meteorology, hydrology, environmental engineering, or related field appropriate to the development of a national framework for climate services.
Experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience, sound knowledge of Central Africa and experience in the development and monitoring of NFCS.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English and French (both oral and writte. Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage. (Note: The official languages of WMO are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)

Proposed fee: Band C/D : 390750 USD per day depending upon experience, knowledge and skills.
