Location of Position: Washington, DC
Telework/Remote Eligibility: Eligible to telework up to four days per pay period (two days per wee. The position is not remote eligible.

Appointment Type: This is an excepted service, timelimited initial appointment that is not to exceed five years, with the potential for two twoyear extensions.
Salary: (US$107,657 – $158,097 per year

Description of Organization: The Infrastructure Division provides professional engineering and technical services to maximize the development impact of USAID’s global infrastructure portfolio, manages USAID’s constructionrelated risk, promotes quality infrastructure development, and advances key infrastructure priorities and initiatives including the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PG.

Specialized Experience: For the FL03 (GS13 equivalengrade level, you must have one year of specialized experience at the FL04 (GS12) grade level or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as:

  • Experience in engineering, infrastructure planning or design, construction, or construction oversight; providing consultative services on a range of complex engineering, construction, and/or infrastructurerelated topics; developing and/or disseminating guidance and bestpractice; developing and implementing locally appropriate approaches to infrastructure planning and design in various contexts; and integrating quality infrastructure development principles into strategies, programs, and project design; and
  • Development experience, such as working in a developing country or with economicallydeprived communities in the United States, and maintaining a Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in a U.S. state or territory.

  • At the FSL03 grade level, an undergraduate degree is required.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen; and
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
