JOB DESCRIPTION

Background and Organizational Context

Taking a ‘leave no one behind’ approach to our diversity efforts means increasing representation of underserved populations. People who identify as belonging to marginalized or excluded populations are strongly encouraged to apply. Learn more about working at UNDP/UNCDF including our values and inspiring stories.
UND/UNCDFP does not tolerate sexual exploitation and abuse, any kind of harassment, including sexual harassment, and discrimination. All selected candidates will, therefore, undergo rigorous reference and background checks.

The UN Capital Development Fund assists developing countries in the development of their economies by supplementing existing sources of capital assistance by employing grants, loans, and guarantees, first and foremost for the least developed among the developing countries. As a Flagship Catalytic Blended Financing platform of the UN, UNCDF utilizes its unique capability to crowd-in finance for the scaling of development impact where the needs are greatest—a capability rooted in UNCDF’s unique investment mandate—to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the realization of the Doha Programme of Action for the least developed countries, 2022–2031.

Within its mandate, UNCDF hosts and leads the secretariat functions of the Global Fund for Coral Reefs (GFCR), a blended finance global instrument dedicated to mobilizing action and financial resources to protect and restore coral reef ecosystems.
