Setting up a national structure for collecting information on trade procedures and publishing them in the trade portal of Egypt.

Duties and Responsibilities
The consultant will work in the framework of the TLAL project on “Accelerate Trade Facilitation,” financed by Her Majesty Revenue and Customs—UK Customs, more concretely in the sub-component TLAL.02, which aims to support the National Trade Facilitation Committee of Egypt. Under the supervision of the Chief of the Trade Facilitation Section, Trade Logistics Branch, Division on Technology and Logistics, the national consultant will support the implementation of the Trade Information Portal in Egypt. S/he will be entrusted with the following tasks: – Thoroughly analyze the information on the trade-related procedures documented in the Egypt Trade Portal and conduct a field survey to ensure the accuracy of the information. – Analyze the information gathered on trade procedures from different sources – Present the national Trade Portal to institutions members of the National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC) and other stakeholders; – Plan and facilitate workshops and action plans, – Provide substantive support to consultative meetings and draft background papers and reports. – Help organize meetings and work sessions of the workgroups designated by the NTFC and Ministry of Investment and International Trade;and Cooperatives; – Conduct trainings to NTFC member institutions on the use of the Egypt Trade Portal and the TFI, namely to identify simplification opportunities; – Keep the procedures in the Egypt Trade Portal up to date by regularly verifying the information with each agency in charge; – Participate in the analysis of selected trade procedures defined by the national counterpart, propose simplifications, help configure the simplification dashboard for Egypt, and ensure its continuous updating.
Qualifications/special skills
A first university degree, Bachelor in international relations, trade-related issues is required. At least 7 years of experience in trade-related matters is required Experience in trade facilitation and customs procedure is required. Knowledge of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is required. English is desirable.
