RESPONSIBILITIES: CARE Sierra Leone is seeking a talented visionary to assume the role of a Health Officer to help with the implementation and day-to-day management of the health component. In meeting this responsibility, the health Officer is also accountable for the monitoring of the project’s health inputs and outputs, and ensuring targets are achieved. Also, S/he will be responsible for ensuring that the Health project activities program works in accordance with CARE regulations, norms, and standards to ensure high program quality. This role will report directly to the District Team Lead, with dotted lines to the Health and Nutrition Manager. Perform field Observations, conduct interviews with stakeholders in health systems, collect samples, write reports, and study disease vectors to find ways to counteract the spread of contagions. Implementation of activities: Provide technical guidance and supervision of all our health activities/interventions and ensure quality control in all stages of the activity implementation. He or she will be moving throughout the program sites at length to ensure quality implementation is happening at the field level. Compliance agreement with CARE standard: Develop a compliance monitoring plan such as checklists to track compliance in close consultation with the project Director to Deliver program quality standard implementation. Support monitoring of staff and communities’ compliance to safeguarding principles on protection against sexual harassment exploitation and abuse (PHSEA) at all levels. QUALIFICATIONS: Possess experience and education in Project : You must have a bachelor’s degree in health, or other related discipline experience, bringing with you at least 3 years of experience as a Health Officer or similar experiences and a thorough knowledge of project practices. Have communication and reporting skills needed to deliver and conduct both oral and written training sessions for small, medium, and large-sized groups. Be able to tell the story and know when it’s applicable to convert data to conversation. Be a problem solver and critical thinker. You must be able to clearly identify and define the different levels of problem-solving and resolution. Think holistically with a vision and use your analytics and reporting skills , Be a leader with influence. Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and negotiation skills with internal and external partners with the ability to be a team player. Know your systems . Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word and good skills at using Medical health tools and software applications (PeopleSoft experience will be preferred).
