The Information and Country Engagement unit (ITSCE) is seeking a Business Analyst with strong IT project management with Agile methodologies and processes, analytical skills, and broad technology background to support the Country Solutions work program. The position will liaise and closely collaborate with various business clients and other ITS groups for IT solutions analysis, design, implementation, and support.

ITS Operations and Country Engagement Department (ITSOE) delivers innovative products and services to frontline staff working on over 6,000 projects throughout every Region and Global Practice. Our teams support and enable Bank priorities, boost operations efficiency and effectiveness, and facilitate Operational knowledge discovery. Our delivery model leverages global expertise, design and architecture, leading technology, and robust processes to deliver business solutions that ensure value for money.
Unit Context:
The ITS Country Engagement unit (ITSCE) provides digital support for global and country-specific products to help thousands of task teams and country management units to better plan, track, and manage their operations and improve country engagement. It also enables geospatial capabilities through self-service tools and analytics so teams can better monitor project preparation and implementation from anywhere. For our Country Solutions product line, we are looking for a Business Analyst.
Duties and Responsibilities
The IT Analyst’s primary responsibility includes analyzing client requirements, analyzing data and documents, creating reports and release notes, managing agile project processes, scrum meetings, unit testing, running reports for the team, supporting maintenance and operation, troubleshooting, and triaging issues, monitoring applications, and coordinating with key stakeholders.
•Works with business to understand and document business needs; participates in requirements gathering sessions and produces project documentation, typically under the guidance of a product manager or functional lead.
•Creates requirements documentation, and functional specifications, including user stories and business process diagrams.
•Validates and obtains sign-off for functional requirements/specifications and releases.
•Documents requirement changes throughout the project and routes information following established guidelines.
•Tracks and reports on project progress against defined requirements throughout the project life cycle.
•Craft business cases to evaluate the feasibility of technology initiatives
•Design and execute test cases for application development and implementation projects
•Support the Product Owner in all stages of product development, working with Solutions Architect, Platform team, Developers, Agile PMs, Testers, and Designers.
•Deliver regular status updates to the Product Owner, flag risks/delays, and discuss product backlog.
•Arrange demos for change management and outreach to facilitate the creation of change management plans.
•Write up release notes
•Assists in executing and developing functional test plans; conducts unit and user testing to ensure requirements are met; collects and documents user feedback and test results.
•Provides business insights and clarification of requirements to support the delivery of effective technical solutions.
•Supports the development and delivery of user training and creates system documentation as needed.
•Collect, document and manage issues and actions for applications and projects
•Prepare and make presentations using MS PowerPoint and Visio to project stakeholders and management
•Propose recommendations based on industry’s best practices
•Communicate changes in requirements to clients and other stakeholders. Develop and distribute minutes, follow up commitments and save the documentation to track progress.
•Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
•Suggest potential fixes to complex issues by doing a thorough analysis of root cause and impact of the defect.
•Interact with clients and communicate efficiently to clarify complicated issues.
•Monitor progress of the project; communicate with team members, clients, and other relevant stakeholders on a regular basis
•Good with PPT designing and MS Excel formatting and formulas
Selection Criteria
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to articulate and communicate to all stakeholders
•Ability to meet with key stakeholders and elicit functional and system requirements
•Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments, contributing to sprints, and managing backlogs.
•Excellent business analysis skills and strong knowledge of the Project Management principles and the SDLC process
•Experience with documenting requirements and gap analysis and performing troubleshooting assessments.
•Demonstrated team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources
•Demonstrated experience in time management and multiple task management and kept the ongoing deliverables and schedules on track.
•Demonstrated experience working as a Business or Data Analyst in technology projects running in production.
•Proven experience coordinating and working with resources across multiple locations.
•Commitment to improving business processes and delivering quality solutions.
•Understanding World Bank business processes supporting operations, knowledge, and learning services is a plus.
